A Call to Action on Community Policing & Public Safety w/ MULYP

The MULYP Politics and Policy committee is hosting a forum on Community Policing and Public Safety at the Milwaukee Urban League offices (435 W North Ave) on Saturday September 30, 2017 from 10am-12pm.

Our discussion will focus on the many different roles in the community, from those involved in activism to protest and policing, and our shared public safety responsibilities. Speakers from multiple perspectives will be invited to address challenges and successes experienced on all sides. Our aim is to successfully and safely engage one another in dialogue of how to conduct ourselves in activism while at the same time expressing our concerns through protest during these challenging times. In light of recent local and national unrest and distrust we would like to discuss ways to build trust between communities and public safety officials that is constructive and informative.
