Homelessness and the Bell Riots – Star Trek Night

“…there is one thing I don’t understand: how could they have let things get so bad?”
“That’s a good question. I wish I had an answer.”
– Juilan Bashir and Benjamin Sisko, 2371 (“Past Tense, Part II”)

The Bell Riots started in San Francisco’s Sanctuary District in the year 2024 and were one of the most violent civil disturbances in all of American history as those homeless and imprisoned within the districts rose up, fighting for their rights and dignity. In the wake of the riots public opinion turned against the ruling class, forcing the United States to face the serious social problems it had struggled with for over a century.
