We defeated one version of this massive water grab. But now Governor Brown is making a last-ditch effort to quickly push through a new version of his reckless water tunnels project.
We must urge our city officials to stop any and all versions of this water tax! Mayor Eric Garcetti is especially key to stopping the project for all of California.
The water would overwhelming go directly into the hands of big agribusinesses and oil companies in the Central Valley. These corporate interests use massive amounts of water at an unsustainable rate, but YOU, and So-Cal ratepayers would subsidize the bill. Run amok water agencies like the Metropolitan Water District (MWD) would also benefit from this tunnel project.
Join us to tell our city officials to do everything they can to stop this corporate giveaway tax! We need to fix our OWN water systems, not subsidize a tunnel tax for special interests!
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garretti opposed the two tunnels and voted against the proposal last year. Now, the project would cost even more. Call Mayor Garcetti at 888-793-4597 and tell him to fight for California by opposing the new version of this tunnel proposal — one tunnel is just as destructive as two and still too expensive!
