Chicago and Women’s Labor History Tour
Back by Popular Demand! Please join us for an exciting and informative tour to learn more about Chicago’s Rich Labor History and women’s participation in it! The bus will depart from the conference hotel at 9:00 A.M. and returns in time for the reception.
The cost of the tour is $30.00 per person and includes transportation to/from the conference hotel, a box lunch, and guided tour and a stop at a local brewery. During the tour, we will visit familiar and new stops including: the Haymarket Memorial, the Stockyards,Ida B. Wells’ home and Sleeping Car Porters Headquarters, Steelworkers’ Park and Pullman with a focus on the contributions of women to the labor movement. The Illinois Labor History Society leads the tour. (Unscheduled stops will not be made during the tour).
