Labor Day March & Rally for Paid Sick Days

We all get sick sometimes. Many of us bring our germs to work because we can’t get time off or will lose pay we need if we do. Sometimes we send our kids to school because we can’t stay home to care for them.

Paid time off is an issue of justice for workers, as well as a public health issue. Portland is considering an ordinance that would allow all workers to earn paid sick time.

The Southern Maine Workers’ Center believes that all workers have a right to dignified employment–and that means not being forced to choose between your paycheck and your or your family’s health!

MONDAY SEPTEMBER 4th • 10-11:30AM
•March starts outside of the Irish Hertiage Center at the close of the Southern Maine Labor Council labor day breakfast
