PDX Homeless Winter Care Packages (ongoing fundraiser)

We’re putting together winter care packages for Portland’s homeless, care packages that contain basic human essentials like good condition or new blankets and hats, hygiene products, food, and encouraging hand-written notes.

Why now:

According to the most recent statistics from Multnomah County, while Portland has seen a 17% decline in chronic homelessness (despite rising living costs), we’ve seen a 48% increase in the number of unsheltered African-Americans from two years ago. That’s a staggering number. Supplemental data indicates that levels of homelessness have increased in these and other communities of color, including, Native Americans, Latinos, and Asians.
