March for Science Tok, Alaska
Many members of our small community are deeply concerned about the current administration’s attitude and policies towards science. We will join our scientists and science supporters from around the world to take a stand and make our voices heard in protest as we march to support all science and to safeguard the scientific community, process, and data. “The mischaracterization of science as a partisan issue, which has given policymakers permission to reject overwhelming evidence, is a critical and urgent matter. It is time for people who support scientific research and evidence-based policies to take a public stand and be counted.”
The March will start at 10:00am at the Memorial Park near the highway junction in downtown Tok. We ask participants to meet at the part between 9:30 and 9:45am. Please park at the park or the library parking lots. The March route will go east along the AK highway for about 0.5 miles, them turn around and go back west, then south on the Tok Cut-off, down to the mini mart, then back to the park.
