Knoxville March for Science

Knoxville’s very own March for Science!

We are marching for
– Science that serves the common good
– Uplifting marginalized voices and affirming that science is and will continue to be performed by people of all races, sexual orientations, gender identities, abilities, religions, ages, socioeconomic and immigration statuses
– Evidence-based public policy and regulations that serve public interest and protect vulnerable communities rather than further corporate greed and political gain
– Accurate science education in public schools
– Making technology and scientific knowledge accessible to all
– Adequate funding for scientific research
– Transparency in science communication from governmental agencies

As a local march, we are seeking to uplift East Tennessee communities and grassroots organizations whose struggles intersect with scientific communities. We recognize that the application of science is political and we demand that science promote our common good!

We will rally at the Ayres South Lawn on “the Hill” at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus. Then, we will march to the John J. Duncan Federal Building downtown. Full program and community partnerships will be announced soon. For inquiries on community partnerships and how we can work together in East TN, email knoxmarchforscience@gmail.com
