Micah holds bachelors’ degrees from the George Washington University, as well as a master’s degree and a doctorate in Black Politics from Howard University. To enact legislative change, we must know what to do and how to do it. Kansas State Senator David Haley will be speaking about the importance of legalizing medicinal and recreational cannabis. Senator Haley will be discussing the personal and economic benefits from the legalization of medicinal and recreational cannabis. Haley believes this is a nonpartisan issue. The Senator will outline his vision, goals, and requirements to enact change at the legislature. He is going to describe his plan on getting behind candidates who support legalization and the lobbying efforts that are to come. Haley has been a longtime proponent of legalizing cannabis and has introduced many bills over the years. Senator Haley has postponed a planned, month-long, out of country trip to speak at this event. Haley is a Democratic member of the Kansas Senate, representing the 4th District since 2001. From 1995 to 2001, he was a Kansas Representative.
