AADC Local Advocates Workshops

Working together we are stronger. The Auburn Area Democratic Club will be hosting a series of workshops to build an environmentally progressive team of Advocates in Placer County who will 1) comment on projects moving through the CEQA process; and 2) recruit candidates or take seats on Boards and Commissions that influence land use and social policy in Placer County and in cities within Placer County.

Advocates will learn to follow land use and social policy activity, review CEQA documents, write legally defensible comments on those documents and deliver those comments to Councils, Boards and Commissions. Advocates will be a voice for progressive social and environmental issues.

Advocates will review the many open seats for Advisory Boards, Commissions, and Committees and find their place – where their input will contribute progressive thought to the decision making process. The many Advisory Boards in Placer County, Lincoln. Auburn, Roseville, Rocklin, Loomis and Colfax need progressive voices and it is through this program that future progressive candidates become known to voters.

We plan to offer our Advocates Workshop series beginning on September 28 and continuing weekly through November 9. Several people have expressed interest in the Workshop Series and we plan to recruit others with the goal of 30 Advocates for the Workshop Series.

Advocates Workshops will be using a team teaching approach and each workshop will be interesting and fun! Join us as an Advocate and together we will guide local social and environmental policy in a progressive and inclusive way.
