Please join us at an upcoming public meeting hosted by the BLM in Hesperia. Afterwards, a number of organizations will be hosting a panel discussion to answer your questions, help you develop your written or oral comments, and provide an opportunity to give oral testimony. We hope you’ll stay to show your support to #ProtectOurDeserts and public lands from corporate greed!
The meeting is at the Courtyard Marriott at 9619 Mariposa Rd, Hesperia, CA 92344 at 5:00pm.
The federal administration is reopening the Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan (DRECP), which was developed over eight years with substantial scientific input and public participation, with the intention of gutting protections for our precious public lands. These lands provide access for all of us – hikers, campers, off-roaders, rockhounds, and equestrians – and protect the most pristine habitat for desert wildlife like tortoises and bighorn sheep as well as important and fragile Native American cultural sites. The plan also provides space of space for well-sited and responsible renewable energy development.
We need your help to push back! Please attend the public meeting and help save our #DesertPublicLands!
