HB 1127: Fight to keep EPA regulations in Indiana

HB 1127 is a bill that proposes the nullification, or removal, of the Environmental Protection Agency’s regulations in the state of Indiana. This bill suggests that the department of environmental management in Indiana provide environmental protections for citizens of Indiana.

This is problematic because many of the current Indiana regulations are in violation of the EPA and the EPA provides more environmentally friendly regulations. That is to say that the Environmental Protection Agency has stronger protections available to regulate harm on the environment.

A great deal of legislation that has been passed in favor of protection of the environment by way of implementation of EPA regulations in Indiana would become null and void if this bill passes.

It is important to keep these protections in place.
