UNITED VOICE OF THE EAGLE
“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
“WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES” These are the words that begin the US Constitution. The Constitution was written by our forefathers to ensure that WE THE PEOPLE have rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
The Declaration of Independence showcases the reasons that America was born. It states:
“When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”
But lately, WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES have felt that our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are somewhat shaky. We go to work everyday, come home and watch the news, discuss what we see and what we feel is important, and then contact our government representatives who often ignore our letters, calls and even face to face meetings. They are supposed to represent us, but do they know that? It seems that they are only listening to people like the Koch Brothers and others with plenty of money to spread around.
United Voice of the Eagle is a celebration of “WE THE PEOPLE”. It is us, reminding our government that WE THE PEOPLE are in charge. WE THE PEOPLE want representation in Congress, in the White House, and in all the State Houses as well. We gather to declare what WE THE PEOPLE want in hopes that our representatives will hear us at last and realize that they are shortchanging the very people they are supposed to represent.
Simply stated, WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA wish to be heard and listened to. We will not be silenced. We are using our voice to take our country back!
