Beaver Valley Hike & Sip

This approx. 4 mile hike through scenic Beaver Valley will be moderate with a few challenging sections, including a creek crossing. The trail is mostly unpaved, and often uneven, packed earth through woods and meadow. Wear hiking boots if you have them, though they are not required. We trust your judgement, but suggest that this hike is probably not suitable for kids under 12 or folks who have challenges with balance or stamina.

After the hike we will stop for some wine at the beautiful & nearby Penns Woods Winery. Wine drinking is of course optional. Wine flights at Penns Woods are $10 for 5 wines (we cannot guarantee availability of tastings that day) and prices per bottle of wine vary. Please bring cash/credit card and pay the winery directly. Food is available at Penns Woods for an additional cost.

Please remember to bring:
– Water (important!)
– Weather appropriate clothes & hiking appropriate shoes (including a hat and/or sunscreen)
– Money for wine tasting (if you plan to participate)
– Bug repellent would not be a bad idea
– Snacks are always a good idea

IMPORTANT PARKING NOTE: Park at Penn’s Woods Winery near the vineyard. We don’t want to overwhelm their normal parking lot, so the winery is opening up a special area for us to park. As you’re going down Beaver Valley Road the winery entrance will be on your left (if coming from Route 202). Drive past the house and the driveway where you would normally enter the winery and then take the NEXT left. You’ll a dirt road and see the vineyard gates. Look for traffic cones which will guide us to park along the gate to the right. As always, we strongly encourage folks to bike, carpool, walk or take public transit it they can!
