Demonstration Against Confederate Monument
The Movement for Black Lives has called for a national day of action this Saturday, August 19th, at symbols of white supremacy across the country.
In interest of solidarity, as well as opposition to white supremacy and fascism, North Alabama DSA is calling upon its membership and any allies against white supremacy in the Huntsville area to come together in protest for the removal of Huntsville’s Confederate Monument which sits at the steps of the Madison County Courthouse this Saturday.
Bottled water will be availible, but bring your own just in case we run out. It is supposed to be sunny that day, so dress appropriately. Posters and signs are encouraged; please however keep them relevent to the protest. “No Trump. No KKK. No Fascist USA”, “Black Lives Matter”, and other anti-capitalist/anti-fascist rhetoric are good examples.
The event will be held whether it is 5 or 15 of us.
