MLK Remembrance March

The City of Bloomington Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration Commission invites the public to join them for a March, from 4:30-6:05 p.m., in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the 50th anniversary of his assassination.

March Route and Program:
4:30 p.m.: Program begins with remarks from MLK Commissioners and community members
~4:45 p.m.: Flower planting at TBD
~5:00 p.m.: BEGIN WALK south on Fairview St.
Walk Route and Pickup Points:
~5:05 p.m., Fairview School, along 7th Street
~5:10 p.m., B-Line, Plaza 1A (7th and B-Line)
~5:20 p.m., B-Line, Third Street overpass
~5:25 p.m., B-Line, Kroger (Seminary Square)
~5:40 p.m., B-Line, Grimes Street Overpass (exact location tbd)
~5:45 p.m., CLOSING PROGRAM beings with proclamation and readings
6:01 p.m., TOLLING OF BELL (in unison with groups all over the U.S.)
~6:05 p.m., Load up on Bloomington Transit bus and ride back to Butler Park
