Planned Parenthood Art + Activism for Teens
DO YOU WANT TO LEARN ABOUT PLANNED PARENTHOOD SERVICES?
ARE YOU INTERESTED IN ART AND ACTIVISM AND HOW THE TWO INTERSECT?
When people of all incomes, sexual orientations, genders, and backgrounds have access to medical care and information that can directly alter the course of their lives, we have a more harmonious world community. Planned Parenthood has always been at the forefront of the movement for this type of reproductive justice.
Rafael Perez is a bilingual artist, psychotherapist, and fashion designer. Jacinta Bunnell is the author of 4 coloring books about gender and sexuality.
Together, Jacinta Bunnell and Rafael Perez, former health educators for Planned Parenthood of the Mid-Hudson Valley, are organizing a grassroots media campaign titled #iluvplannedparenthood where participants create iconic and bold handpainted signs celebrating the contributions Planned Parenthood has made to their lives and their communities. Together, we will design poster/sign art work. This workshop will encourage creative activism, communication of ideas to a large audience, grassroots education, and awareness of PPMHV services.
Ashley Casale, Public Affairs Coordinator for PP Mid-Hudson Valley, will join us to inform us about Planned Parenthood activism.
This fun, engaging workshop is open to teens age 14-18.
Pre-registration is required. TEXT RSVP: 845-867-3163 or Ashley.Casale@ppmhv.org
