Day of Action to Confront White Supremacy
Join a National Day of Action to Confront White Supremacy from Charlottesville to Olympia
Saturday, August 19th 11-2pm @ Tivoli Fountain
on the Washington State Capitol grounds.
103 Capitol Way S, Olympia, WA 98501
Olympia SURJ invites you to move into action to help build a long-lasting, national grassroots movement for racial justice. We know that Olympia has its own white supremacy to confront from the colonization of Indigenous land & people to organized white supremacist & Alt-Right actions in our streets to the violence Officer Ryan Donald committed when he shot André & Bryson to their unjust trial & incarceration.
On Saturday, August 19th during a national day of action against white supremacy, the legacy of slavery & monuments of the confederacy, Olympia SURJ will collect signatures in support of De-Escalate Washington I-940 & lift up the messaging from The Movement for Black Lives. This initiative, led by people of color who have been impacted by police violence, is a tangible way to change a racist system that targets people of color. Further, the stakes continue to raise for people of color and the movement to end white supremacy needs more white people to commit to anti-racist action.
