CBA Doorknocking & Winter Readiness Kits

On Sunday, October 15th, we will knock on doors to talk with our neighbors about Community Benefits Agreements and distribute Winter Readiness Kits to help our neighbors stay warm through the winter. We will distribute the kits from 1-3pm, and then we’ll meet back at the office for cocoa, cider, and cookies.

Many jobs in Erie don’t pay enough to sustain a family, and there are not enough jobs for everyone who is looking for one. We are fighting for Community Benefits Agreements to help get family-sustaining jobs for Erie, but we have to help each other meet our immediate needs while working towards a longer-term vision for a stronger Erie.

In short, we need to look after each other this winter while we make sure fewer of us need help next winter. These kits and the conversations we have with our neighbors are a small but important step towards our vision of a stronger Erie for all of us.

Every Tuesday – Friday from noon to 3pm, we will be collecting donations of hats, socks, gloves, pocket tissues, and cocoa packets (in adult and child sizes) at our office at 202 W 11th St. The last day to bring in donations is Thursday, 10/12, so that we have time to put together the Winter Readiness Kits.

Please donate what you can, and we’ll see you on the 15th!
